Alan Kaplan

Alan Kaplan is a Senior Therapist and occupational therapist practicing in North Texas with Upstream Rehabilitation’s Peak Physical Therapy and Results Physiotherapy. He received his Master of Occupational Therapy degree from The University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas, and has seven years of clinical experience in upper extremity and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Alan is a Certified Hand Therapist through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and received his Certified Manual Occupational Therapist credential through NAIOMT in 2023.
Alan currently serves as a mentor in Upstream Rehab Institute’s Hand Therapy Fellowship and is responsible for developing the hand therapy program for Peak Physical Therapy and Results Physiotherapy in North Texas. He treats musculoskeletal conditions of the cervical spine, thoracic spine, and upper extremity, utilizing a combination of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, therapeutic exercise, patient education, and custom orthosis fabrication.
In addition to his clinical practice, Alan serves as a clinical instructor for both occupational therapy and physical therapy students. Alan is an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists and is passionate about evidence-informed practice, clinical reasoning, mentorship, and helping clinicians integrate manual therapy principles into upper extremity rehabilitation. He has a special interest in complex hand and upper quarter conditions and enjoys fabricating challenging and non-traditional orthoses to meet individualized patient needs.
