This course is a hybrid (online/live) course that provides a comprehensive overview of the examination and management of vestibular dysfunction, with emphasis on differential diagnosis of peripheral vestibular pathologies, skilled evaluative techniques, special tests, and strategic treatment approaches for vestibular pathologies including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular hypofunction, and cervicogenic dizziness. The course reviews relevant anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and explores how these structures contribute to balance, spatial orientation, and common vestibular disorders. Emphasis is placed on understanding the mechanisms underlying BPPV and other peripheral vestibular conditions, as well as the clinical reasoning required to accurately assess and manage these patients. Participants will develop practical skills in vestibular examination and treatment, including canalith repositioning techniques and balance assessment strategies. This course is designed for clinicians practicing in outpatient and rehabilitation settings who wish to increase their confidence in evaluating and treating vestibular conditions. It is appropriate for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, certified occupational therapists assistants, and students regardless of prior experience in vestibular rehabilitation.
