Practical Pain Science is a hybrid continuing education course designed to help rehabilitation professionals integrate modern pain neuroscience into everyday clinical practice. In the asynchronous online modules, participants will explore the foundational science behind learning and behavior change—both in themselves and their patients. Through interactive lessons, quizzes, and guided reflection, learners will develop tools to improve patient education and engagement, while deepening their own clinical reasoning.
The live face-to-face course builds on this foundation with hands-on labs and case-based discussions that bring pain science to life. Clinicians will practice applying key concepts to real-world scenarios, improving communication, and enhancing treatment planning through a biopsychosocial lens. Lab activities emphasize metaphor-driven teaching, sensory integration, and manual therapy strategies that align with contemporary pain models.
